I posted earlier this year on the possibility of a biochar conference session at the NZASSS conference (see below). I’m not sure if this has become a reality but the recent conference update identifies two Australian keynote speakers who have biochar history (according to google!).
I’m confident that soil carbon will feature during the conference. NZ soil scientists have been much slower to address biochar opportunities IMO. Oz has more (or is that less…) skin in the game due to their soils and environment. But the uptake in NZ has been poor, considering the early investment from govt. Opinions on this welcome.
So – is anyone from the NZ biochar community going to be there to wave a black flag?
